CPhI Worldwide 2004, the world's leading pharmaceutical ingredients event, (www.cphi.com) is taking place in Brussels, Belgium, on December 7-9, 2004. The exhibition is running simultaneously with ICSE, the International Contract Services Expo.

At ICSE/CPhI 2004 InSight will publicize the first to market Interferon beta-1a API, being the first company to develop and commercialize a generic version of this product. High quality Interferon beta-1b API in bulk quantities is also offered by the company.

In addition, the company promotes its technology transfer capabilities. InSight has developed state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies for the production of a wide portfolio of biogenerics, including interferon beta-1a, interferon beta-1b, G-CSF, EPO and PEGylated biopharmaceuticals. The company's achievements in the development of mammalian cell clones with very high expression levels of recombinant proteins make these technologies highly efficient and esablish a solid base for the development of biogeneric products for the ICH-regulated markets.

ICSE/CPhI 2004 is also the first time where InSight will unveil its novel technology for the improvement of cell therapy procedures. The technology is based on a recombinant human heparanase preparation that is applied to coat a wide spectrum of cells used for cell therapy. Due to the unique heparanase bioactivity, the heparanase-treated cells acquire improved tissue invasion potential and this results in better implantation and engraftment in vivo.
