The field of 'biogenerics' has gained tremendous attention in recent years. Biopharmaceuticals, especially those containing recombinant proteins as the active pharmaceutical ingredient, have a multi-billion dollar market worldwide. Patents covering an important part of these products are due to expire in the coming years.
During the past few years InSight has been extensively engaged in the development of technologies for manufacturing generic versions of a wide spectrum of known blockbuster biopharmaceuticals whose patents have expired or are about to expire.
InSight's strategic partners apply the company's bacterial and mammalian expression systems to produce and commercialize biogenerics.
